Salutations fruitnuggets, and welcome to another monthly recap. This is your captain Goldsta bringing you the latest news and happenings, straight from the Fruitbowl. Even though we said April was going to be a relaxed month, it turned out to be incredibly busy! Lots and lots of exciting updates to share with you lot, let’s jump right into it!

Box Update

As fresh Losh mentioned last week in the weekly post, our server got a neat little upgrade! In the hopes of stamping out lag issues, we’re now using a better processor, SSD, and more RAM than before to meet the needs of the server. The move happened just recently on Friday 29th April, and the server was down for a few hours. We understand people are still experiencing a bit of lag now and then, rest assured this will all be fixed in no time!

5300 Players - Survival!

Fantastic figures yet again! FruitSurvival has seen over well over 5000 fruitheads join in on the fun since the map wipe three months ago. Although we didn’t quite manage to break any records this time around, I’m confident that you lot will help us pull off great things during May! If we see enough players online, we’ll organise special spontaneous ways of rewarding you guys so make sure you’re around as often as possible!

4530 Players - Skyblock!

Getting closer and closer to the big 5k mark, skyblock has definitely earned a special mention this time around for it’s strong regular playerbase that at times sees more activity than our survival server! Very impressive skyblockers, well done to all. Your friendly neighbourhood Community Manager Aphroditie has made sure you guys are well taken care of and sought to work with H1N9 to make your requests a reality.

Donation Goals

Once again a big thank you to the fruity family who’ve helped us clear donation goals once more! Fruitsurvival fulfilled 449% of its goal and Fruitskyblock fulfilled 102% of its goal, which means more fruity perks are in the works for you all! Rejoice! Of course, this is also a chance for everyone to make inquiries about what perks they’d like to see in the store! We didn’t receive much of a response when I asked what you all thought about a rank above Titan/Spirit, so feel free to let us know what you think!

Event Team

April finally saw the introduction of the revamped Event-Manager role, which is now known as Event-Coordinator. Expectations have been outlined much more clearly and the rank permissions have been revised to ensure smooth sailing for all our new Event-Coordinators! You can expect fun new events in the near future as they’ll be working with our fantastic builders to deliver only the best for our fruity audience!

Special Events

We’ve heard all of your requests for special spontaneous events and we did what we could to deliver during your holidays, fruitloops. The staff teams have been working hard to cater for as many groups as possible, with the skyblock staff team organising movie nights and bi-weekly events, and the survival team organising events for special occasions like Mother’s Day! Although countless players have requested things like random Capture the Flag events, we can’t begin them if we don’t have enough players. So this is a message to all who enjoy our special events, if we see enough players online we are more than happy to host random events you request! Remember, we require a LOT of players for events like Capture the Flag, and many staff members need to be available to help.

Community

Fruitservers is driven by its passionate, lovable community who have developed a knack for making every player’s stay enjoyable. This is due, in part, to all the different ways for players to communicate and express themselves through our server. We have a wiki and gallery which unfortunately don’t see much exposure, however our teamspeak and more recently dubtrack have absolutely taken off! If you would like to truly immerse yourself and become well known within the community, I would strongly recommend dropping by teamspeak or joining in on the dubtrack madness. If you love watching movies with others, be sure to pay attention to the movie nights the skyblock staff team will be hosting.

Build Competition

Due to March’s lack of Build Competition entries, we decided to forego the build competition entirely for the month of April. We understand this left some players disappointed, however we’re happy to announce a very unique theme for comp this month! The theme for May’s build competition will be Videogames! The possibilities for this one are quite literally endless, and we expect some jaw-dropping entries. This build competition will be held in the creative world, and entrants are expected to list the game their build is referencing along with the actual place they are replicating.

-Players must work individually.

-Build must follow the theme of the month.

-Build must be completed in the creative world.

-Only one entry per individual.

-Players must list the game and the name of the build their entry is referencing.

3rd Place: $10 store voucher.

To enter this month's competition, please leave a comment stating so or use a warp if you're building on someone else's plot. If you have run out of warps, please let a staff member know.

If you've won a voucher, please speak to Goldsta about redeeming it. Please remember that these vouchers do not count towards your ingame rank, and they may be used on others too! If you're really confident in yourself and you think you can nab a voucher in the next month, you'd be happy to know they do add up.

Top Players

This is for you players who make the Fruitbowl what it is; a friendly, enjoyable experience for all every day, and every night. Every month one player and one staff member from both Survival and Skyblock are selected and recognized for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Player of the month survival - Bulk_Bogan. The bulkster here has been a phenomenal force in the fruitbowl throughout this month. Suplexing rule-breakers and teaching new players the ropes, we have seen bulkamania become a household name in the land of fruit. I am totally not saying all of this because I was threatened with a suplex. On a more serious note, Bulk_Bogan has taken the time out to help numerous inexperienced players on multiple occasions, and has become a very well-known member of the fruitbowl. Well done brother!

Player of the month skyblock - Viddy_. Known as W0lf_Bl00d until recently, Viddy_ has been a very active and loyal skyblocker for a while now, and is very deserving of this month’s prestigious award. Always willing to guide new players and assist them with general queries, Viddy_ is a very valuable member of our community. Keep it up Viddy_!

Staff of the month survival - MistOfDusk. Mist has gone above and beyond in his time as a Moderator, with his revival of dubtrack and his presence within the community both in-game and on teamspeak. Although his nicknaming choices for his fellow staff are very questionable at the best of times, he has shown he has an innate desire to help all who are in need. Well done Mist on this well-deserved acknowledgement.

Staff of the month skyblock - Mall_Cop. Staffii here has gained a loyal following amongst the skyblockers due to his very frequent appearances on the server as well as his efficiency in solving all issues that are brought before him. Trusted and respected by players and staff alike, Staffii has proven to everyone that he is an exceptional member of the community in just his first month as a staff member! Well done Staffii on earning this award.

-Beyond the Bowl

Oh boy, where do I begin. This past week in particular has seen more staff changes than we would get to see in 2 months! Let’s start with the addition of our three new trial-mods on survival. Make sure you introduce yourselves to Azzo_, melongrip, and SparkleyChloe as they’ll be helping the Moderator team enforce rules in the fruitbowl from now on! Now for the much anticipated introduction of our Event-Coordinators, please make HelloMelon, iMeoww and IkkiAmnesia feel welcome as they grace the fruitbowl flaunting their fancy green prefix! We also witnessed Youngbloods and LoshSmoak become veteran-moderators due to their excellence as Moderators. Finally, we see skyblock’s gatekeeper Eiar ascend to Veteran-Mod, a very well deserved promotion for a leading member of skyblock’s humble community. Excellent work Eiar!
