May Recap
5 min read

Hello young Fruitsters and vegetables, welcome to the May recap. This little update will be kept short and sweet as our wonderful staff teams continue to tinker away at bigger projects that I'd rather not spoil just yet. There's plenty to look forward to as we approach the halfway mark for 2019 - plenty to get excited about!

Fruitbowl News

1.14 Update
A word from our benevolent leader - "1.14.2 has finally arrived heralding another major update from Mojang to fix the mess of a release that 1.14 was. I am currently trialing this update extensively to see if and when we can update Fruit. It has not been possible to put any of the more recent updates on Fruit due to the massive and substantial performance issues and game breaking bugs. Sitting at around 3 TPS with only 20 online was simply not acceptable.

Geek has already updated all of Fruit's plugins and added plenty of new features and bug fixes as well which I can't wait to implement. There is a stack of new content for Prison including a plot system which will finally allow us to implement dungeons later on. For Skyblock there are general bug fixes including one for the fishing quests. Improved GUI Shop for survival, no need (hopefully) for the token vouchers anymore. Some will also be some new perks as well!"

Staff Updates
For anyone who has been paying attention to our player counts recently, Survival and Skyblock have been enjoying continually growing player counts and have been hugely successful in retaining players. The slew of new staff members added to the teams are a reflection of this - huge congratulations to all of the new staff and credit to the existing staff who have gone above and beyond in their roles to contribute.

Fruitlympics
I'm happy to report good progress on our favourite yearly contests, Fruitlympics 2019 could quite possibly turn out to be our biggest edition of the events so I hope you're all excited to bring back the gold for your team! Once more there are a select few staff who've stood out in attempting to bring these events to life ahead of deadlines, be sure to thank them when you see them.

Donations
Do you want to see more wholesome additions to the server? If you answered no, I am disappointed in you. If you answered yes however, you'll be happy to know plenty of wholesome content has been planned thanks to you lot consistently beating donation goals! Give yourselves a pat on the back.

Voting Competition
Huge thank you to everyone who has been voting regularly - voting has been super competitive as of late. This month there were too many winners for our normal prizes so instead all the winners will receive a $5 voucher. Please message Goldsta via the forums to redeem this. Congratulations to ChoccyLatte + MrRandom287 + Zeldagod1352 + finnschips + angarang. Please bear in mind votes get tallied prior to the post being written so some last minute votes that you sneak in probably won't get counted.

Build Competition
No build competition once more, however we're willing to compromise and introduce it once more as some players do genuinely seem keen to have a crack at it. Please leave a comment on this monthly recap telling us why you would or wouldn't want to be part of another build competition, looking forward to the responses!

Top Players

FruitServers is an amazing community because of the people that are a part of it. Every month one player and one staff member from Survival, Skyblock and Prison are selected and acknowledged for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Player of the month Survival - Brettdog. Just about all of our regular players would be familiar with some of the artistry and craftsmanship Brettdog brings to the server through his unique paintings, today we're going to acknowledge the genius behind it all. Since Survival's first map, Brettdog has laboured to introduce a unique shop to a rather predictable market on Fruitservers. Thank 'moo' for doing what you do!

Player of the month Skyblock - ScyTheSlayer. Those who've interacted with Scy all agree that his presence is a welcome addition to the server, enough so to warrant being given this special acknowledgement. Well done Scy!

Player of the month Prison - jAaaHHsmin. Although I wish they'd change their ingame username every single time I interact with them, I don't want jAaaHHsmin to change their attitude towards prison. Thank you for continuing to support Prison so diligently. P.S please change your name to something simpler.

Staff of the month Survival - NaaTilly. Cementing herself as an invaluable member of the Survival team, NaaTilly is never one to shy away from rising to the occasion when help is required. Her commitment has resulted in rather swift promotions, well done NaaTilly!

Staff of the month Skyblock - Snoozn_. Snoozn's rapid improvement and unwavering commitment to the server are impressive to say the least, such efforts deserve acknowledgement through this special accolade - well done Snoozn!

Staff of the month Prison - ItzBezz. As Prison continues to grow, staunch supporters like Bezz stand out from a mile away. His growth since being recruited and his willingless to tackle new obstacles are worthy of recognition. It's just a tad unfortunate that he is currently experiencing 7 years of bad luck for trying to use a fishing rod on Goldsta.

Survival, Prison, and Skyblock are lucky to have such strong moderating teams, however we are always accepting applications for all of our staff roles. Our wonderful Event and Build Teams in particular are still looking to grow so if you'd like to be a part of something special do consider looking into these roles. Think you have what it takes to join one of these fantastic teams? Submit an application at www.fruitservers.net/staff

As mentioned in previous months we always look forward to hearing feedback from you guys about possible improvements. If you have ideas, please share them with us either through the website, in-game, or via discord. We want to know what you think!

Thank you for taking the time to read this brief recap.
Remember to share your thoughts about the build competition in the comments!
