May Recap

Welcome to another monthly recap!
Just like that, nearly half the year is over and tons of things have been happening on Fruitservers. Many of you are approaching a very stressful time of the year with important exams taking place. What better way to wind down than spending some time on the best survival server around? Enough gloating, let's get straight into the post!

Fruitbowl News

Special New Events
Our build team has been working hard in conjunction with the event team trying to introduce fun new events. Throughout June you will get to see a couple of new events, along with some new things builders are keen to bring to the table. No spoilers though, you'll find out very soon!

Donations
Another incredibly successful month! Special mention to Itachi_Uchihaa for being skyblock's top donor 2 months in a row, and special mention to The88thMidnight for being top donor for survival once more almost 2 years since the last time he was top donor!

Voting Competition
Voting competitions have been very close recently! A reminder to everyone competing that votes are tallied up roughly 2 hours before the monthly post goes up so if you manage to sneak in a couple of votes too late, they won't count for the competition. Congratulations to these winners.

Voting is a very simple way of showing the server your support, and you get rewarded for it by receiving keys to open super special crates in-game! Not only that, the 3 most dedicated voters receive donation vouchers at the end of each month which they can use to spoil themselves (or others)! Please note that these vouchers do NOT count towards your donation total.

Build Competition

The theme for May's build competition was Parkour. Although we did manage to reach the minimum of 5 entries to ensure prizes are distributed, it's very unfortunate that two out of the five entries had to be disqualified as more than one person contributed to the build. These builds are to be completed strictly by one player only. Congratulations to the winners of this month's competition!

The theme for June's build competition will be Steampunk! This is a somewhat complex theme that has been thrown around for a while now. Steampunk can be described as - "a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology." This theme will require players to come up with unique ideas and hopefully spend weeks working on their project. We expect to see great things!

Competition Rules
- Build must be finished by 30th June.
- Players are restricted to working individually.
- Build must be completed on the Creative Server.
- Do not build chestrooms, spawners, massive farms etc. We want creativity, not everyday things.
- Only one entry per individual.
- No pixel art!
- Keep redstone minimal if you must use it.
- Do NOT copy anyone else's builds, not even ones you find on Google images!
- Minimum 5 entries. There will be no winners announced if we don't get at least 5 entries!
- Builds need to be started and completed within the same month. You cannot use assets from previous entries.

Top Players

FruitServers is an amazing community because of the people that are a part of it. Every month one player and one staff member from both Survival and Skyblock are selected and recognized for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Player of the month Survival - Kirara_. Like last month's staff of the month, Kirara plays while most of the aussie fruitsers are fast asleep. Going the extra mile to be social on discord and friendly in-game, Kirara earns this special award. Well done!

Staff of the month Survival - Spike_M. Spike has made his presence known by appearing online as frequently as he can possibly manage (including being online while he's at work!). As one of the newer staff Spike has gone out of his way to ease the burden on his fellow staff by tackling as many issues as possible. His initiative earns him the special award for this month. Well done Spike!

Player of the month Skyblock - iSurgez. Although he's relatively new, Surge has very quickly become a friendly, well-known face on both the server and discord. His generosity towards players and welcoming demeanour earn him this special award. Great job Surge!

Staff of the month Skyblock - Verlisper. This one goes to Verlisper because he is Aph's husband. Just kidding! Verlisper is the one of the many friendly faces of Skyblock's staff team who manage to always go the extra mile to help players. His crazy hours on the server helps alleviate the pressure on his fellow staff. Well done Verlisper!

Beyond the Bowl

As we're well into the new year people are on their way back to school/uni/tafe among other things. This means players and staff alike are finding themselves tied down with other priorities, which means some valued members of the community have had to step down from important roles. As always, this means there are vacancies to be filled in the Mod/Event-C/Builder roles and we are going to be accepting applications throughout the month.

If you feel like you meet the criteria for these roles, I'd strongly encourage you to apply. If you're unsure of the criteria at any point in time, please feel free to ask staff members to clarify things.

Get hyped for June! I hope to see you all in-game.
