July Recap

July Recap Time!

Greetings Fruitsters, and welcome to the July Recap. The past couple of weeks have been rather chaotic for everyone due to the release of the latest major update, 1.13 - we know what the big question is on everyone's mind and it will definitely be addressed a little further on in this post. July was again quite busy for everyone, and with plenty of the staff tinkering away at little projects in the background you can expect a few fun surprises in the coming months.

Fruitbowl News

1.13
The Update Aquatic - billed as the largest major update to Minecraft thus far, there's a slew of new content and changes to existing content that I will not be delving into. "WHEN WILL FROOTSURVRS UPDATE?" - H1N9 has stated that we will update when some important plugins update. There is no sense in updating and not having any of our important plugins available to use. "ARE WE HAVING A MAP WIPE? WHEN'S THE MAP WIPE?!" - There are no map wipes scheduled currently and getting panicked about one possibly happening does little more than cause havoc.

FruitPrison
Very exciting news for our humble Prison community. Planets 6 and 7 were released simultaneously a few nights ago, and boy do they look incredible. Special mention to Remex_ who really has gone above and beyond in trying to bring these planets to life, dedicating countless hours to improving the aesthetic of the jaw-droppingly gorgeous planets. There's plenty more features in the works currently so make sure you're paying attention to that little Announcements channel on discord - you'll be updated on the biggest additions through there.

Fruitlympics
July saw the successful return of the Fruitlympics. This time around the reigning champions Survival were pitted against the combination of Skyblock and Prison - dubbed Prisonblock. After a very competitive run of events, Survival managed to reel in the trophy for the second year in a row although towards the end it could've gone either way. Congratulations to everyone on making Fruitlympics 2018 a huge success - next year is going to be even more amazing!

Donations
A solid effort from everyone, Survival and Skyblock have both crushed their donations goals. Prison on the other hand didn't perform nearly as well, but we'll get there! A huge thank you to all of the loyal fruitsters who have generously donated, we appreciate it! Plenty more cool updates are being rolled out for each of the servers, keep your eyes peeled for them!

Voting Competition

Reminder to everyone that votes are tallied up for the post a few hours before the end of the month so sneaking in a couple of votes right at the end may not help. Voting has become insanely competitive as of late. Everyone is eager to win a vote voucher! Congratulations to Kairinezz + Euphoriella + vic61 + nuggs13 + aussinator + TechnoDazza + Choccy_ on tying for 1st place - voting has never been more competitive and it's so incredibly satisfying to watch. Every winner from this month wins a $10 voucher, pm Goldsta on the forums to have this arranged.

Build Competition

Miss _Ravioli is clearly doing something right, the amount of entries we've been getting since she took over these competitions is quite astounding. Congratulations to the 3 winners - not to discredit anyone but you won by the tiniest of margins! Here's to another competitive build comp - take it away Rav.

Hey guys it’s your girl _Ravioli!! Thank you so much to everyone who entered in July’s build comp! We had a whopping 11 entries! THAT’S AWESOME!! For everyone who entered you will receive an event token on the server of your choice, I will be in contact with you soon to organize it! Because of the success of the last two months events we have decided to keep the ball rolling! As we are in the closing month of winter, this months theme is WINTER WONDERLAND!! Will you build a magical snow forest or a village of snowmen? All we need is something to do with the theme of WINTER!! Once again this competition will have size specifics but they will be slightly different so be sure to pay attention!!

Competition Rules

  • The build must be a Maximum of a 100 x 100 blocks. To stay within this boundary, we suggest creating a border to work within.
  • The build must have something to do with winter.
  • Build must be completed by August 30th 8pm AEST.
  • You must work alone, if you do not you will be disqualified.
  • All entries must be built on the creative server.
  • As cool as pixel art is, this isn’t the place for it.
  • Don’t copy another persons work, whether it be from in or outside of the server. BE ORIGINAL!
  • We need at LEAST 5 people to participate to hand out prizes, so spread the word!
  • This build needs to have been started and completed within the month of August.
  • Completed entries that don't earn a prize will net the builder a token on their server of choice.

Top Players

FruitServers is an amazing community because of the people that are a part of it. Every month one player and one staff member from both Survival and Skyblock are selected and acknowledged for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Player of the month Survival - Onism_. A friendly face to all he greets, Onism has stood out throughout July for his jolly demeanour and his willingness to reach out to help anyone in need (when he isn't being hounded by his wife to complete builds, that is). Well done Onion!

Staff of the month Survival - _Ravioli. Rav brings an entirely different kind of energy to the event-coordination team. What exactly does this mean? It means she's so hyper at times we literally cannot handle her. That's perfectly fine since she has done nothing but try to contribute positively to the server from the moment she joined. Well done Rav!

Player of the month Skyblock - Narimna. A kind and caring player who has made a name for herself throughout July by being exceptionally warm and welcoming towards any she encounters. Well done Narimna!

Staff of the month Skyblock - nuggs13. Although he's a new addition to the team, nuggs has been exemplary in his role as a leading member of the server whilst remaining as friendly and approachable as he was as a player. Well done nuggs!

Staff of the month Prison - LifeOfBlu. Although it's still early days for Prison, the efforts of the staff team have been instrumental in keeping everything rolling smoothly. Blu's extraordinary hours on the server warrant plenty of recognition. Well done Blu!

Survival, Prison, and Skyblock are lucky to have such strong moderating and build teams, however we are always accepting applications for both of these roles. Our Pasta Squad saw the recent addition of Ms. _Ravioli, however the event team is still looking to grow so if you'd like to be a part of something special do consider looking into this role. Think you have what it takes to join one of these fantastic teams? Submit an application at www.fruitservers.net/staff

As mentioned in previous months we always look forward to hearing feedback from you guys about possible improvements. If you have ideas, please share them with us either through the website, in-game, or via discord. We want to know what you think!

We've now reached the end of another rushed post (sincerest apologies).
Looking forward to seeing everyone in-game!
