July Recap
Written by Ahtnamas80

Hello Fruity Friends! Ahtnamas80 here this month with all the news from around the Fruit Bowl.  July has been a huge month for Fruit Servers, with a few resets, new version of minecraft, and a massive Fruitlympics. As the dust settles, and I look back at the last few weeks, it really was a lot of fun (even if i did develop a few more gray hairs along the way).  So now we look at what comes next, we have lots of things in the works for the next few months, so never fear there is always something new in the fruit bowl.  But for now, lets get into the wrap up for July.

1.19.1 Update + Chat Filter

1.19.1 clients can now join all servers (except Pixelmon of course) and talk.  We will be updating to 1.19.1 over the coming days for Survival, Skyblock and Creative.

There has been much discussion of the chat filter included in 1.19.1 and the potential implications of it. If you haven't heard about the chat filter, you can read more about it here: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/7317376541197-Minecraft-Java-Edition-Player-Reporting-FAQ

The FAQ doesn't really answer any of the important questions but it gives you an overview of what has been added to the game.

I don't really have any issues with the implementation of a chat filter. The stuff that Mojang can ban you for is also stuff that we would moderate on Fruit Servers anyway. Hopefully, they have resolved all of the other issue in regards to spoofing chat messages so that players aren't falsely banned. The largest issue has been the lack of community consultation over the implementation of this chat filter. We intend to have verified chat messages as soon as possible.

Bedrock Edition can now join Fruit Servers!

As of June 7th anyone who purchases Java Edition Minecraft will also get Bedrock Edition. Same if you purchase Bedrock, you get Java. As a result, last week we decided to allow Bedrock compatibility for Fruit, opening up the possibility for players on Xbox, Mobile and the other platforms to join us. You will see that players using bedrock have a . in front of their ingame Minecraft name.

There are a number of compatibility issues with allowing Bedrock users to join the server which we will try and address over time to make it a more seamless gameplay experience. Java edition will always provide the more superior gameplay experience for Fruit, Bedrock is just painful. If all you have is an Xbox though, you are stuck with Bedrock. Over the next week, we will work to allow Bedrock players to get member.

Farewell Fruitlympics Video

Well Fruitlympics may have come to an end for another year, and to celebrate  another fantastic Fruitlympics we have a very fancy montage video to share with you.  Thank you to everyone who submitted screenshots, unfortunately we could not use all the images we received, but I think you will agree that the video showcases the best that Fruitlympics had to offer.  So grab the popcorn and check out this amazing video, created by the very clever Naf2k!

Fruitlympics Montage Video.

A big thank you to Naf for all his hard work in putting that video together!

Hey Prisoners! The monthly quest returns! This month you will have to find some roses of a certain black type on Planet 4. There is 3 of them scattered around so I hear. Make sure to talk to the quest master on Planet 4 to start the quest and claim your monthly key!

The Wandering Trader is still not up this month as we try to fix and improve him for the coming months. He will be back next month I am sure of it!

A new month on Prison brings us a new Monthly Parkour. To celebrate the amazing Fruitlympics that took place last month, we wanted to bring it all back with a fresh, new parkour called Pillaging Pirates! Start on the dock’s and make your way to the surfboard riding a gnarly wave! Enter the beast’s mouth, traverse the Ocean Monument and escape through the whale’s blowhole. Climb on board H.M.S Prison and search for the very well-hidden booty! This parkour is not about being difficult, but letting you experience the true adventure of sailing the high seas in search of precious treasure! As always, the top 3 fastest times will get rewarded with a Cosmetic Token, Fruitsters Key and a personalised trophy to show off to everyone, so get those little legs moving and jump in!

★ Donations ★

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed this month, your donations go towards continuing to develop fun new content for everyone.

★Vote Competition★

Reminder to everyone that votes are tallied up for the post a few hours before the end of the month so sneaking in a couple of votes right at the end may not help. Props to everyone for keeping voting as competitive as it has been, looks like everyone is eager to win themselves a voucher! Congratulations to our winners this month, please message a Community-Manager or H1N9 to redeem your voucher.

★Top Players★

FruitServers is an amazing community because of the people that are a part of it. Every month one player and one staff member from each server are selected and acknowledged for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Dex has been a survival player for a while now, and during that time he has shown himself to be a friendly and helpful member of the community.  As an active player, he can often been found chatting with people both in game and on discord.  This month we recognise the positive influence Dex has on Survival, and thank him for being a wonderful member of the community, congrats Dex.

Dimbotron has shown a large amount of engagement with the community this month, and is always interacting with fellow Skyblock players in the chat, and has been an upstanding player this month. Well done Dimbotron!

LifeofBlu has been a regular face on the Pixelmon server for a long time, and with him he always brings a sense of joy. Whether it be from dishing out some great bargains on ah or creating a custom sound and texture pack for us to use, we are always thankful to see him online!

Naf2k is always one of the first staff members to put his hand up and offer help, he is always there is support his fellow staff members and tries to do his best with every task he takes on.  Recently he put together an amazing montage video of Fruitlympics, going back and making edits to keep us fussy Com-M's happy.  I think the results speak for themselves, an example of the high quality of work naf contributes regulary!  Now if he would just pick one name and stick to it, I might know who he is when he logs onto the server.

Ron has been an exception help all throughout the month of July, and especially with helping out during Fruitlympics, which is always a massive job. Ron never skips a beat when it comes to events, and has been contributing constantly throughout this month, both behind the scenes and in the spotlight. Well done Ron!

Laz has been a great asset to the prison team this month. With his works creating the monthly parkours, helping out around with quests and other cool secret stuff, he is always ready to give a helping hand. A huge congrats to xLaZx!

Nebula's dedication to the Pixelmon staff team is valued by everyone. He is always ready to step up and help out in a time of need.   Well done Neb!

Fruitservers is lucky to have such strong moderating teams, however we are always accepting applications for all of our staff roles. Our wonderful Event and Build Teams in particular are still looking to grow so if you'd like to be a part of something special do consider looking into these roles. Think you have what it takes to join one of these fantastic teams? Submit an application at www.fruitservers.net/staff

And so we have reached the end of this months post, and the end of my time in the spotlight.  Now it is time for me to cuddle up under a cozy blanket and watch some more netflix, what to binge now?

Keep it Fruity!
