Hello again, it is your friendly neighbourhood Ahtnamas80 with you again this week, bringing you another dose of fresh fruity news for your reading pleasure.  As the middle of the year approaches, we are getting very close to one of my favourite times of the year.... Fruitlympics! Staff have been working hard behind the scenes getting everything ready, so keep your eyes open over the next couple of weeks as you may see some spoilers, and event sign ups will be going up soon.  This years Fruitlympics promises to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!  We saw the first prerelease of the next minecraft update, and H1 keeps hinting at something pretty big coming up, so make sure you keep your eyes open on the website and discord!   So get your snacks and settle in to this weeks news....

The first pre-release for 1.16 were released by Mojang this week. I've seen a lot of players ingame ask why we haven't updated and when we will. Firstly, 1.16 isn't out yet. This is only a beta of 1.16, shown by the fact that the snapshot turned out to permanently corrupt the worlds it updated from 1.15.

Mojang is known for their excessively buggy and painful Minecraft updates. Traditionally, we have only had to wait for plugins to update before we could move to the new version. Over the past few years, each update that Mojang has released has continue to get worse. More bugs, more lag, worse than ever performance. As a result, we now spend a lot of time and money optimising plugins and running our own custom .jar. These take time - much longer than plugins to code and as a result, I will not be rushing into updating to 1.16.

Our website and discord will always have the latest info on the update. We will of course allow 1.16 clients to connect to the server when it comes out.Have an idea for a custom advancement?  Suggest them HERE

Build Competition - Theme for June is MOVIES!The possibilities for this comp are endless, limited only by your imagination.  Remember the more players who enter the build comp, the better the prizes become, so get together with your friends and start working on those movie themed builds now.Find more information on the build competition including how to submit your entries in the forums.(Link to Junes forum thread will be available soon)

Competition Rules

• The build is limited to 100x100 in size, we'd suggest marking out these dimensions beforehand.
• The build must follow the theme - Movies!
• The build must be completed by 11:59pm 29th June, 2020 (AEST)
• You must work alone, you will be disqualified if others help you.
• All entries must be built on the Creative server.
• As cool as pixel art is, this isn't the place for it.
• Don't copy another person's work, BE ORIGINAL!

Entry and Prize Structure
A forum thread will be made where you can submit your entries as well as find out what the prize structure will be. To make things easier for everyone, please only submit your entry on the prize structure thread. Lazy attempts will receive a substantially smaller prize, you have been warned! Remember - 15 quality entries and the prizes will increase!  Keep you eye out on the forums, the post will be up soon for this months competition.
