Welcome!

Boo! Hope I didn't spook you! Good evening and welcome to another monthly recap. As we inch closer and closer towards the busiest time of the year, everyone has been working hard to bring you the best they have to offer. October has given us many fun things to talk about, so make yourself comfortable as I walk you through everything that's happened over the month!

Fruitbowl News

-1.11 Snapshots
Before getting into the statistics, it's important to remember what I mentioned in last month's post about the upcoming major update. As most of you are aware, 1.11 snapshots have been released and an array of fun things are being added. However we also know the main question on everyone's mind; "Will the server be reset when updating to 1.11?" The answer to that, as confirmed by the owner, is no. So you can rest easy knowing your hard work won't be wiped out to make way for the next major update.

-Halloween Hype
We promised you amazing things for halloween, and boy did our teams deliver! The build team worked tirelessly to create incredible, unique masterpieces for you lot to ogle in between the rounds of new events being hosted by our now sole Event-Coordinator who has also worked incredibly hard to ensure everything worked out seamlessly. Kudos to everyone who contributed in making Fruitoween such a smashing success! Now that we've seen for ourselves how much you guys enjoy these kinds of events, you'll want to stick around for everything else we have planned. No spoilers though!

-Christmas Preparations
The team has already begun brainstorming ideas for Christmas, it's going to be huge! You can expect plenty of fun surprises coming your way during the most joyous time of the year, make sure you stick around for it! That doesn't mean November will be quiet, no no not at all. We're still working on new events and alternate builds for current events so make sure you keep yourself updated.

Player Statistics

Survival: 10120 players / Skyblock: 1810 players
Look at those figures! We've crossed 10k on survival and we're nearing 2k on skyblock. Keep it up everyone!

-Voting Winners

Voting is a very simple way of showing the server your support, and you get rewarded for it by receiving keys to open super special crates in-game! Not only that, the 3 most dedicated voters receive donation vouchers at the end of each month which they can use to spoil themselves (or others)! Please note that these vouchers do NOT count towards your donation total.
Well done to these dedicated voters!

-Build competition

It's only fitting that we'd choose October's build competition theme to be Halloween. The lack of entries is fairly disheartening, as there are great prizes to be won from every single competition. Regardless, well done to our winners who've each won vouchers to spoil themselves with.

We're going to change things around for November. This month's build competition theme will be Christmas. It's extra special this time around because the winning build will be showcased at spawn. If we can't show off your entire build at spawn, we'll show only portions of it. This competition will be held in survival which means the vouchers will count towards your rank.

Competition Rules

- Build must be finished by 30th November.

- Players are restricted to working individually.

- Build must be completed in the Survival World.

- Do not build chestrooms, spawners, massive farms etc. We want creativity, not everyday things.

- Only one entry per individual.

- No pixel art!

- Keep redstone minimal if you have to use it

Prizes - These will count towards your rank.

1st Place: $20 store voucher

2nd Place: $15 store voucher

3rd Place: $10 store voucher

How to post your Entry

To enter this month's competition, please leave a comment either on this post or one of the following weekly posts stating so. If you have run out of warps, please let a staff member know.

Vouchers

If you've won a voucher, please speak to  H1N9 or a Community Manager about redeeming it. If you're really confident in yourself and you think you can nab a voucher in the next month, you'd be happy to know they do add up.

Top Players

Fruit Servers is an amazing community because of the people that are a part of it. Every month one player and one staff member from both Survival and Skyblock are selected and recognized for their contribution to the server, whether it be ingame or behind the scenes.

Player of the month Survival: RedDeadFlame31. This time around we recognise one of our most loyal players and a very important part of the Fruitservers build team. Red has constantly strived to give the server everything he can and his commitment reflects his amazing attitude towards partaking in all we have to offer. As a veteran of the server and one of the friendliest people in the community, I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this month's special award. Congratulations Red!

Staff of the month Survival: Ahtnamas80. There's very little I can say here that wasn't already mentioned just a couple of months ago when Sam recently won this special award. She's online as much as she can be, she's the first to stand up and help players who are in need of assistance, and she's constantly looking out for everyone, players and staff alike. Sam's hard work is acknowledged with this award, well done!

Player of the month Skyblock: Sunokelly. Super active and great fun to interact with, Sunokelly's kindness towards all who've had the pleasure of interacting with him has earned him this month's special award. Sunokelly's pleasant demeanour and his generosity towards all in need make him stand out as the most exceptional player this month, well done!

Staff of the month Skyblock: Dusty_Tornado. Hope you're not tired of seeing this guy's face plastered on this section every month, he's worked hard to earn it yet again! Dusty has been nothing short of amazing in Aph's absence, and he lead the rest of the team by example throughout the month. Dusty's excellence in his role has earned him this special award once more, fantastic work Dusty!

Beyond the Bowl

As mentioned in the intro, we've reached that part of the year where everything is becoming hectic as people are preparing for the festive season. This means players and staff alike are finding themselves tied down with other priorities, which means some valued members of the community have had to step down from important roles. As always, this means there are vacancies to be filled in the Mod/Event-C/Builder roles and we are going to be accepting applications throughout the month.

If you feel like you meet the criteria for these roles, I'd strongly encourage you to apply. If you're unsure of the criteria at any point in time, please feel free to ask staff members to clarify things.

This concludes the October recap. Get ready for everything we've got planned.
Thanks for reading!
